At Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Stafford, between the ages of 2 and 3 years old, children are welcomed into and enjoy a space in Toddlers that matches their inquisitiveness and energy. The space is filled with well-considered furnishings and learning resources that are accessible to them at all times.

With your child’s growing independence their reliance on adults is eased slightly and we ensure that each team member has no more than four children to support at any one time. By doing so we see children at this age and stage thrive.
Toddlers continue to develop with a focus on the three prime areas and are more fully introduced to four more specific areas that support their growing enthusiasm for exploring their world. These are:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive art and design.
As our Toddlers go about their play our educators sprinkle texts, books, sounds and numbers around them, promoting your child’s curiosity.
There will always be space and opportunity for them to create their own work and art, being encouraged to have a go themselves inspired by the world around them.
Your child will begin to learn about selfcare and independence. Our dedicated staff encourage children to wash hands, toilet train and self-serve their own meals. We are never far away to help them and the children learn new skills in a fun, loving way.
“We are absolutely thrilled with Monkey Puzzle! My daughter has attended here for the last month and we can see a massive change in her too! She is always so happy when we pick her up and all the staff are absolutely brilliant! They’re very attentive, informative, caring and professional!”

As our toddlers enter this room they are met with high-quality resources selected purposefully to encourage their gross motor skills. A large selection of engaging push and pull toys and a small kitchen, introduces the children to their first experience of role-play.
Meal times in the Toddler Room becomes a social activity with children being encouraged to wash their hands before choosing a seat around the table. The tables are specifically designed for a practitioner to sit in the middle and encourage self-serving and self-feeding. As the children grow and flourish the ratio will never be more than four toddlers with one member of staff.
